From Ajaccio take the D81 in the direction of PIANA (CALVI par la côte). At the new roundabout on the COL LISTINCONU, take the road to APPIETTO. Drive up towards the village and turn right before the cemetery, signposted GOZZI, reach the top of this road and you find you are in a good parking area.
- CHAPPELLE SAN CHIRGU (to GOZZI Summit) 1h30 / 3.3km
From the parking area go through the gate towards the Rocher du GOZZI and take the steep, rutted climbing path directly on your left. The path heads up the ridgeline, starting in a north easterly direction, before heading east with the view soon opens up to the Rocher du GOZZI, there is a slabbed plateau to enjoy the panorama. Continue straight on when a path switches back, you should see the stone house ahead and the GOZZI rock, to your right the hill falls away. You are climbing initially then traversing the slope. Once behind the house you will see a clear path that leads towards the right towards the GOZZI rock. Not for those with any form of vertigo and keep away from the cliff edge !
Return the way you came or bag a summit by heading uphill from the little ruined house, a climb of 100m and you reach the PUNTA PASTANICCIA summit.
