Mt Sant Angelu, Corbara

A great little summit by the sea !

From convent at CORBARA, this walk climbs steeply to the peak above, Mt Sant Angelu. Either a there and back or join with a walk from Sant’Antonino.

A short and favourite sporty walk for the locals.

The Mt Sant Angelu rises high above the village of CORBARA. It is a lovely small but perfectly formed summit above the convent. You will discover traces of an agricultural past.

  • Corbara Convent (to Sant’Antonino track) 0h20 / 1km

Park at the car parking area, near to the convent, with your back to the convent, head towards the house and climb the track in the direction of Sant Antonino, soon on your left you see a path to you left signposted BOUCLE de SANT ANGELO, climb left here through the gate and follow the path until you reach a track on the ridge.

    • Sant’Antonino track (to Sant Angelo) 0h30 / 1.25km

From the track, where the track and the path join, you need to head off diagonally across the field towards Sant Angelo. You will see a stone bergerie to your left, and another with a threshing circle off to the right. Once paralel to the second bergerie, head left to the tree at the foot of the peak, and climb right behind it following faded GREEN waymarks and cairns. The path climbs steeply up the left side of the slope (initially with views over ALGAJOLA and the CONVENT), the final push heads up a stoney slope to a saddle with the summit to your right, take the path (with views towards CORBARA village and ILE ROUSSE) up to the peak for a birds eye view. For the return, retrace your steps.
